Born in Beirut, Ara Azad is based in Boston since 1982. He graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Tufts University, and the Institute for Global Leadership.
Azad paints, sculpts and creates site-specific installations and performances. His in-situ works have been executed in several cities across the United States, the Middle East, and Europe. He was notably chosen to represent the United States at the Florence Biennale of 2003. Azad is also involved in art education in Germany, Bahrain and Lebanon.
